MIAMI (WFLA) — One person was killed Saturday afternoon after a plane crashed down just north of Miami in a fiery wreck, according to authorities.
Officials said the plane crashed head-on with another vehicle that was driving on the Haulover Inlet Bridge that connects Haulover Beach to Bal Harbour. Authorities said a woman and two toddlers were in the vehicle but did not suffer injuries.
The body of one person, who authorities have yet to identify, was found in the plane after first responders arrived.
Authorities said they are working to identify two other individuals who were on board the plane at the time of the crash. The cause of the crash is also under investigation.
Aerial video following the crash showed the extent of the damage to both the plane and the vehicle on the ground.
The area was closed to traffic as crews cleared the scene.
Miami resident Alex Huberman recorded the aftermath from a nearby building, showing the smoke and flames.
NBC affiliate WTVJ said two people were taken to the Ryder Trauma Center for burns.
