Bradenton teen killed after crashing car into pond

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A 17-year-old from Bradenton died Sunday morning after crashing his car into a pond, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the teen was driving west on 44th Avenue East at 4:50 a.m. when his car left the road, crossed the median, and flipped upside down into a pond.

The teen died at the scene of the crash, according to the FHP.

Troopers said they are still investigating what caused the teenager to crash his vehicle.
