TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Today was hot and sticky, topping out at 93°, feeling more like the upper 90s. Expect spotty showers, some could linger past midnight, especially in our coastal areas. Temperatures will barely cool down, sinking into the mid to upper 70s overnight.

A similar set-up is in place for Wednesday, but we expect it to be a tad cloudier, after warming into the upper 80s and low 90s, a few spotty storms pop up later. The rain chance goes up to 30%, and a few of the storms push toward the coast by midnight. Overnight lows will be in the mid 70s, which is above average.

After waking up in the upper 70s, we will warm up quickly o Thursday. The rain chance increases to 40%, and the coverage of rain and clouds will be higher in the afternoon.

Rain chances increasing by the end of the workweek.

Friday looks like our wettest day this week, thanks to a front drifting southward across the state. We’ll be cloudier and see widespread chances for downpours on Friday, accounting for a 60% chance for rain. Temperatures will top out in the upper 80s as a result.

We keep extra showers in the forecast on Saturday. The rain chance is 40%, but it will not rain all day. Highs stay near 90 degrees through the first part of next week.

High temperatures for the next 8 days.

Sunday will be the drier day of the weekend, with only 30% chances for a few isolated afternoon showers and storms. Afternoon highs will be in the low 90s.

Memorial Day looks much like it has in years past, with a quick warm up into the low 90s and decent chances for afternoon showers and storms.
