TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – We topped out around 90° this afternoon with only an isolated shower or two quickly popping up and then fading quickly over our inland areas. We are in for a warm evening, slowly cooling down under mostly clear skies. We will cool down into the mid to low 70s overnight.

Friday starts out in the mid to low 70s and feels a little more muggy. We will warm up quickly to near 90° under mostly sunny skies. Drier air over us limits our potential for rain to 10%- we may see a stray shower or two pop up over inland areas during the afternoon hours. Expect a breezy afternoon, with west-southwest winds between 12-17 mph and gusts around 20 mph.

Friday night will be warm & breezy, slowly sinking out of the 80s and into the 70s. Expect partly cloudy skies and quiet and muggy conditions.

You may have to dodge a few showers during the day on Saturday. The rain chance increases to 50%, and with the extra clouds around, highs will be in the mid 80s.

Chances for rain over the next 5 days.

A few showers linger into Sunday morning for Mother’s Day, but it dries out by the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will warm into the mid to upper 80s for the afternoon.

Next week we get a (somewhat) rare treat- slightly lower humidity! It will be most noticeable during the morning hours, when we wake up in the cool upper 60s, feeling a little more crisp. Afternoons will still be warm, hitting the upper 80s under mostly sunny skies.

The humidity, and a small chance for afternoon showers, creeps back into our forecast by the middle to end of next week.
